Noema Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-01
Overview
Noema is designed as a private, on-device AI knowledge vault. It helps you import text, web pages, and PDFs, organize them locally, and ask questions with source citations.
Data Stored On Your Device
The app stores the following data locally on your device:
- imported text, PDFs, and web page content;
- extracted text, summaries, tags, and key points;
- search indexes and local retrieval metadata;
- questions, answers, citations, and recent ask history;
- local app settings and processing state.
This data is stored in the app sandbox or app group container so the main app and Share Extension can work together.
Network Access
The app does not use an account service, cloud sync, advertising network, or analytics service.
The app accesses the network only when you choose to import a web URL. In that case, the app requests the URL you provide so it can save readable content locally.
Data Collection
The current app does not collect your documents, questions, answers, URLs, identifiers, usage analytics, or diagnostics for the developer.
Tracking
The app does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
Local AI Processing
The app is intended to process imported content locally where supported. If a local model runtime is unavailable, the app falls back to local extractive behavior rather than sending your content to a developer server.
Deleting Data
You can delete local app data from inside the app's settings. You can also remove the app from your device to delete its local container according to iOS behavior.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted with a new date.
